Bible Teaching About Pastoral Work

The Bible teaching about pastoral work gives inspiration, encouragement and helpful information about a key position in God’s work: the pastor. They are called pastor, elders, the clergy, reverend, father, or bishop. Whatever the title, pastoral work involves a unique position of leadership in this world: shepherding the flock God.

Pastors have special duties, face dangers, possess privilege, and exert enormous influence. They are sometimes hated, and sometimes loved. Maybe you are a pastor. I was for eight years, and I have taught pastoral duties in Bible colleges, seminary, and international seminars. I know the stress!

This segment is designed to address areas, needs, and issues common to all pastors, regardless of your denomination. For your starting place, I recommend a book, Lectures to My Students, by that great English preacher, Charles Spurgeon. Study on.
