Will we be still alive at the resurrection of the dead?

QUESTION:
Will we be still alive at the resurrection of the dead? How soon is the resurrection of the dead?

L,USA

ANSWER:

L:

Thanks for dropping by. In answer to your question, everyone will be alive at the resurrection of the dead. That is, all will be in a state of awareness somewhere. Even the unsaved continue on for eternity in a state of punishment (Matthew 25:41-46). You might want to read the Bible study on Hell for more details.

For the Christian, at the time of our death in this life, our body will go to the grave, but our spirit goes to be with Jesus (Philippians 1:23; 2 Corinthians 5:1-9).

On the day of resurrection for the Christian, Christ will return with the saved, and their bodies will be resurrected and joined with their spirits, and those still living on the earth will also be taken up to be with Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians chapter 15).

You might want to read the Bible studies on the website on Heaven, Hell, the return of Christ, and our resurrection bodies. Go to the table of contents, and scroll down to the prophecy section.

All the best, LaRose. I ask a favor of you. If you find this site helpful, would you send a note to those on your address book, and tell them? The site has been of great help to thousands of people -- and it is free!
